YBPS Members Secure Contribution of 40 Computers
from Monroe College for Secondary Schools in Barbados
YBPS successfully initiates Monroe College contribution of 40
computers to secondary schools in Barbados. This gift of computers
is the result of initiative taken by YBPS member Mr. David Dawson,
Assistant Director of Distance Learning Admissions at Monroe College
and fellow Barbadian, Brian Tomlinson, Community Program
Coordinator/Admissions Counselor at Monroe College.
Steven
Jerome, President of Monroe College; Marc Jerome, Executive Vice
President/New Rochelle Campus Director and Evan Jerome, Director of
Admissions/Bronx Campus, officially presented the 40 computers to
the Hon. Jessica C. Odle, Barbados Consul General at New York and V.
Renee Cutting, YBPS Co-Chair on Friday, March 17, 2005 at Monroe
College.
The 40 computers were donated to the Barbados
Ministry of Education for use in its Edu-Tech Program. Edu-Tech is
an ambitious program, which aims to make computer literacy available
to each and every Barbadian student. The computers were distributed
to four schools where the computer technology needs are greatest.
